About Toolkit Brook

A small Taichung consulting practice focused on mobile app codebase audits and release readiness — not a product studio, not a staffing firm.

Origin

Toolkit Brook began when its founder left a decade of shipping consumer Android and iOS products in Taiwan’s mid-size tech scene and noticed the same pattern: teams could hire builders easily, but struggled to get a calm, written opinion on whether a repository was ready for the next release. The practice exists to fill that gap.

How we work with clients

We prefer short, well-scoped engagements over open-ended retainers. You keep ownership of the code. We keep ownership of the findings document until you accept it, then it is yours to share with investors, agencies, or your board.

We work primarily in English and Mandarin for meetings; written deliverables are produced in English unless you request otherwise at intake.

Values in practice

  • Evidence over theatre — every severity claim should point to a path, log, or reproducible step.
  • Release honesty — we will recommend waiting when the build cannot defend a store submission.
  • Respect for the people who maintain the code — audits name systems and decisions, not individuals for sport.

Relationship to Taiwan

Office hours are based in Taichung, which keeps us close to teams across the island without the noise of positioning ourselves as a capital-city brand. Remote work is the default for repository access; on-site days are available when a whiteboard and a shared build machine matter.
